The workflow

LumaTake brings up to nine scenes, Preview/Program/Take controls, local recording, and up to four compatible destinations into one live studio. Connect eligible accounts or enter stream details, prepare your program, and choose when the audience sees each scene.

Preview the next scene before it reaches the audience

Use Preview to prepare a composition and Program to see the current output. Take the prepared scene when it is ready. A starting scene, screen demonstration, presenter view, and closing scene can cover a focused product session without a long list of unused layouts.

The live studio includes microphone and system-audio controls, camera and screen sources, and local recording. Current live profiles run at 30 fps. The 60 fps recording capability elsewhere in LumaTake should not be read as a 60 fps livestream promise.

A destination name does not mean every service works the same way

Choose your live destination
DestinationHow it works
YouTubeConnect an eligible channel, prepare the broadcast, and use supported live chat and control-room tools.
Facebook PagesConnect an eligible Page for broadcast controls, comments, and supported moderation.
TwitchConnect your account for streaming, channel return, and supported chat controls.
InstagramUse Live Producer stream details and external start/end controls. Eligible connected professional accounts support comment reading and private replies.
LinkedIn, X, Rumble, TikTokUse the platform’s stream-key workflow with an eligible account. Create, start, and end the event through the platform where required.
Custom RTMP/RTMPSSupply an eligible destination’s endpoint and stream key. A connection alone cannot confirm public visibility.

Keep a copy without assuming every output succeeded

Local recording and broadcasting serve different purposes. A local file gives you material to edit afterward; the destination determines whether the live broadcast was received and made visible. Check those results independently.

For multiple destinations, test the full configuration and watch the health of each output. An endpoint can accept a connection while the platform still waits for an external start action. Do not close a live control room simply because a stream key was accepted.

Rehearse with the destination you intend to use

  1. Confirm account eligibility, permissions, and the destination supported by your build.
  2. Prepare the scene order and test both narration and app sound.
  3. Run a private or otherwise appropriately limited rehearsal where the platform supports it.
  4. Confirm the audience-facing picture and sound, then inspect the saved local file.
  5. Check the platform’s end state when finishing the broadcast.

Turn the local recording into a finished post after the live session. The social publishing guide covers destination versions, captions, and scheduling.

Questions about this workflow

Can I stream and record at the same time?

The live workflow supports local recording alongside streaming. Rehearse the complete setup, and check the saved recording separately from the platform broadcast.

Can I send one live program to several platforms?

Yes. Select up to four compatible destinations. Account eligibility, output requirements, and external start controls differ by platform.

Is Instagram Live the same as Instagram publishing and messages?

They are separate workflows. Live Producer sends a live program; connected publishing and inbox tools handle posts and conversations.
