Your recordings never leave your Mac.

The short version

LumaTake collects no personal data. Your recordings, projects, and settings stay on your Mac as ordinary files. There is no LumaTake account and no sign-in. When you subscribe, Apple processes the payment through the App Store — we never see your card, name, or address. The app has no analytics or telemetry, so we can't tell who you are or what you record.

Who we are

LumaTake is made by Luminous Digital Visions, LLC. It's a Mac app for recording your screen, camera, and audio, going live, and editing — all on your own machine. In this policy, "we", "us", and "LumaTake" mean Luminous Digital Visions, LLC. You can reach us any time at support@lumatake.com.

What LumaTake collects

The app itself collects nothing about you. Specifically:

• No account. There's nothing to sign up for and no profile to create.
• No telemetry or analytics. LumaTake does not track usage, feature clicks, crashes, or device identifiers back to us.
• No cloud storage. Nothing you record, edit, or export is uploaded to our servers — we don't run any that receive your content.
• No advertising. We don't run ads, sell data, or share anything with data brokers, because we don't have your data to begin with.

Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing for us to lose, leak, sell, or hand over. If you email us for support, we of course see what you choose to write in that email, and we use it only to help you.

Where your recordings live

Everything you capture stays on your Mac. Recordings are saved as standard video files in ~/Movies/LumaTake/, and projects and settings live in ~/Library/Application Support/LumaTake/. They are your files: they don't expire, they aren't locked to a subscription, and you can move, back up, or delete them like any other file. Use Reveal Recordings in the app to open the folder in Finder.

On-device processing

LumaTake's smart features — automatic captions, AI noise removal, click-to-zoom, privacy blur, and text-behind-subject — all run locally on your Mac. Your audio and video are processed on-device and are never sent to us or any third party for processing. Nothing about a recording leaves your machine as a side effect of using these tools.

macOS permissions

To do its job, LumaTake asks macOS for Screen Recording, Camera, and Microphone access. macOS grants these to the app on your Mac only; the captured screen, camera, and audio are written straight to your local files. Granting a permission does not send anything to us — it simply lets the app read that source while you record. You can review or revoke any of them in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Purchases & subscriptions

LumaTake is sold through the Mac App Store, and subscriptions are handled by Apple's StoreKit. When you subscribe, restore a purchase, or manage billing, Apple processes the transaction and your payment details. We never receive or store your card number, billing address, or Apple Account credentials. The app only checks with Apple whether an active subscription exists on your device — a yes-or-no entitlement, not your identity.

Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. To manage or cancel, open System Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → Subscriptions; for refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com.

Livestreaming to other services

If you choose to go live, LumaTake sends your stream directly to the destination you set up — for example YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook — using the stream key you provide. That video goes to that service, not to us, and once it reaches them it's governed by their privacy policies and terms. We don't proxy, copy, or retain your stream. Your stream keys are stored locally on your Mac so the app can reconnect.

This website

The site you're reading, lumatake.com, is a set of static marketing pages. We don't set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies here, and there's no LumaTake login. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and reliability; these are not linked to any LumaTake identity, because there isn't one. Pages may link out to third-party sites like the App Store or streaming platforms, which have their own policies.

Children's privacy

LumaTake is a general-purpose creative tool and isn't directed at children under 13. Since the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how LumaTake works in a way that affects this policy, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. Because our approach is to collect nothing, any change here will be about clarity, not about taking more of your data.
