Real people answer LumaTake email. Before you write, the quick answers below
cover the most common questions — restoring a purchase, managing your
subscription, finding your recordings, and macOS permissions.
Email support
Questions, bug reports, and feature ideas all go to one inbox. Include your macOS version and, if it's a bug, what you were doing when it happened.
New Mac, or reinstalled the app? Open LumaTake and choose
Restore Purchases on the subscription screen. Your plan is
tied to your Apple Account — no license keys, no LumaTake sign-in. Make sure
you're signed in with the same Apple Account you subscribed with.
Manage or cancel
Billing is handled by Apple. Open System Settings → your name → Media
& Purchases → Subscriptions, or the App Store app, to change your
billing schedule or cancel. Cancelling stops the renewal; you keep access
until the current period ends.
Find your recordings
Recordings are ordinary files, not locked in a library. Use
Reveal Recordings in the app, or open
~/Movies/LumaTake/ in Finder. They stay there and never expire,
even if your subscription lapses.
Permissions
LumaTake needs Screen Recording, Camera, and Microphone access. Grant them in
System Settings → Privacy & Security. If a permission was
denied earlier, toggle it on there and relaunch the app.
Billing & refunds
Charges and refunds are processed by Apple, so we can't see or issue them on
our side. Request a refund at
reportaproblem.apple.com.
Email us if something looks wrong and we'll help you sort it out.
Bugs & requests
Found a bug or want a feature? Email
support@lumatake.com with steps to
reproduce and your macOS version. Feature requests genuinely shape the
roadmap — we read every one.
System requirements
LumaTake runs on macOS 14.0 or later, on both Apple Silicon
and Intel Macs. It records with ScreenCaptureKit and exports HEVC, so an
up-to-date macOS gives you the best performance and the widest export support.
Legal
Read our Privacy Policy to see exactly what does and
doesn't leave your Mac (short version: your recordings never do). Use of
LumaTake is covered by Apple's
Standard License Agreement (EULA),
and pricing details live on the Pricing page.
